Sam is a UK government advisor for multiple policy initiatives linked to teacher recruitment, retention, and development. She chaired the DfE core content framework for the ITT advisory group and was the founding Director of Sheffield Institute of Education. Sam is now emeritus professor at Sheffield Hallam University.
